The Steam developer announced two-player keyboard support in September 2025 and warned that some keyboards cannot register enough simultaneous inputs. This is an input-device limitation, not proof that the game lacks local multiplayer.

Set up and check a local match

  1. Choose local play in the build you are using.
  2. Check that each player’s movement and actions have distinct bindings. In the prototype, Escape opens the remapping menu.
  3. Select a fighter for each player using the assigned inputs and follow the selection prompts.
  4. In the match, move each fighter independently, then hold movement while both players use an attack or jump.

The setup works when both players can move and attack at the same time without controlling the other fighter. Test this before treating a missed special as a moveset problem.

Separate binding conflicts from dropped combinations

If one key controls both fighters, inspect duplicated assignments. If the key works alone but fails while several other keys are held, try a different non-overlapping binding group; the developer recommends controllers where simultaneous keyboard input is limiting.

An older Steam character-selection softlock involving two keyboard players was fixed in the 24 September 2025 patch. Update before using that old report as a diagnosis. A controller is the supported alternative when remapping does not solve hardware limitations.
